US Ranger Selection Training Programme
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Built for candidates preparing for the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, this 24 week cycle is run dominant, because running is what separates RASP candidates.
Rucking builds to two sessions a week, spaced apart so they do not compete. One heavy, short and slow to build tolerance. One at test weights and longer, to practise moving at pace under load. Strength and pressing run alongside both the whole way. By the end you are rucking twelve miles at pace and still running well on tired legs.
WHY WE DESIGNED THIS
The minimums are the floor, not the target.
A candidate built to just clear them has nothing left once they are tired, cold and underfed, and RASP is designed to find exactly that. Everything there is run on legs that have already been worked.
So this cycle builds someone with margin. Someone who can still run well at the back end of a hard week, carry heavy without it costing them the next day, and still be useful to the unit when they arrive.
