Conditioning Cycle
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Designed to enhance performance on career courses, this cycle prioritises conditioning, structural resilience and movement efficiency. Aerobic base work progresses throughout, with threshold and high intensity layered on top, and plyometrics built across the full 24 weeks.
From week nine, one session a week offers a choice: run it as written, or take the loaded option, building from 4km at 6kg to 10km at 16kg for AACC and P Company candidates.
WHY WE DESIGNED THIS
Developed through years of experience working with candidates preparing for career courses, this cycle is built to ensure you are physically ready for the demands of arduous selection and qualification courses.
Most people arrive at a career course fit enough to start it and not durable enough to finish it.
Whether you are training for Juniors, Seniors, the Commando Course, P Company, OAC, Patrols and Recce Cadre, Sniper Course or Recce Commanders, the demands are similar. You need to recover overnight, absorb repeated impact under load, and be strong enough that the weight you carry is not what limits you.
The point is not peak numbers. It is repeating a hard day tomorrow.
